Because of its literary success and national popularity, Ecco, an imprint of Harper Collins Publishers, recently approached WVU Press in regards to acquiring the rights to The Ballad of Trenchmouth Taggart by M. Glenn Taylor.

After extensive consideration and negotiation, WVU Press plans to release the paperback rights of Trenchmouth to this national trade publisher in June. The Press will maintain hardcover rights to this title. WVU Press is honored that a large trade publisher has recognized the merit of this novel. Through this sale, the Appalachian experience will continue to spread across the country and globe. Following Trenchmouth’s NBCC nomination, rights to the paperback book have gone to Blue Door/Harper Collins in the UK and Grasset in France.
