West Virginia University Press was established in the 1960s under the administration of the University’s library as a not-for-profit scholarly publisher at the university. Almost immediately, the Press became a major source for information about the coal-mining industry and the history of the state.
WVU Press moved to the Eberly College of Arts and Sciences at West Virginia University in 1999 and has since been revived into a dynamic publisher of many significant titles, continuing to publish works of high quality for scholars, students, and the citizens of the state and beyond as we did during our early days. Our headquarters are in Morgantown, WV and we market and distribute our books worldwide. With a local staff of six people, we publish about a dozen books each year, as well as four journals.
Once again, welcome to West Virginia University Press! Please enjoy browsing our new website and acquainting yourself with our books, journals, and music products.
